The Ministry of Maritime Affairs
has sanctioned Rs 1,087 crore for construction of Breakwater, Boat Repair Yard
and Auction Hall at East Bay, Gwadar Port Pakistan and Gwadar property consultant
in the next financial year 2020-21 under Public Sector Development Program
(PSDP). , 914 million worth of new projects proposed. .
According to official documents,
the main purpose of the new project is to provide a breakwater facility at East
Bay (Dimizer), Gwadar Port Pakistan, so
that fishermen can be relocated from the fishing port at Mini Port to other
development sites. ۔

Fishing Community Exchange
The fishing community exchange
will have a direct impact on the port city's fishing industry. According to the
ministry, the project will ensure smooth operation by providing parking space
for boats with loading and unloading facilities for the fishing industry. The
project includes about 1.65 km of breakwater for fishing boat parking and an
auction hall for commercial purposes.
Important Project
The ministry said it was an
important project to protect the fishing industry in the region, adding that
the project would ensure a safe parking area for boats. The fishermen agreed on
the proposed location and demanded that the work be completed immediately. Fishermen's
entrances were proposed at three places under construction under Gwadar
Highway, which was not planned in the initial design. The project will be
implemented by Gwadar Development Authority (GDA), Gwadar Port Pakistan and is
expected to be completed by 2021.
